1、 Background of the conference

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council attach great importance to the high-quality development of the space economy and commercial space industry. The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China clearly proposed to accelerate the construction of a manufacturing and space power, cultivate and strengthen emerging and future industries; The State Council Government Work Report deploys the development of emerging pillar industries such as aerospace, accelerates the development of satellite internet, and creates a new form of intelligent economy.

This ⼤⼤⼤⼤ Conference was hosted by Beijing Aerospace Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Aerospace Science and Technology System and Innovation Research Institute, China Academy of Launch Technology, China Academy of Space Technology, Shanghai Aerospace Technology Research Institute, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation Commercial ⼯⼼ Co., Ltd., China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation Jointly sponsored by the Institute of Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Deep Space Exploration Laboratory. This conference received strong guidance and support from the Department of Advanced Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The chairman of the conference is Mr. Zhang Chunli of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Mr. Wang Yunpeng of the Beijing Aerospace School, and Mr. Gu Yidong of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Under the guidance of the High tech Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, this conference officially announced the formation of the Space Manufacturing Innovation and Development Alliance. The alliance is jointly initiated and established by nearly a hundred universities, research institutes, enterprises, investment institutions, etc., aiming to promote the construction of a collaborative innovation system for industry, academia, research, and application, and to promote the industrialization of space manufacturing and the development of new forms of space economy. Bai Chunli, Ding Biao, Wang Yunpeng, Wu Weiren, Bai Wei, Lu Bingheng, Wang Guoqing, Wang Huaming, Zhang Xuejun, and Wang Jue jointly unveiled the plaque for the formation of the alliance. Professor Gui Haichao from Beihang University and a leading payload expert on the Chinese space station, has released an alliance initiative, proposing six major initiatives including adhering to innovation driven and breakthroughs in key core technologies, to jointly promote high-quality development of commercial aerospace and cultivate new forms of space economy.
