China's modern coal chemical industry has experienced more than ten years of rapid development, and its technological innovation and industrial scale are in the forefront of the world. A number of modern coal chemical demonstration projects, such as coal to oil, coal to olefin, coal to natural gas and coal to glycol, have been completed, forming a certain industrial scale, laying a solid foundation for the clean and efficient utilization of coal.

Since the 13th five year plan, modern coal chemical industry has made important progress in new technology development, core equipment breakthrough, industrial scale and planning layout, industrial upgrading demonstration and healthy operation, and made positive contributions to expanding the sources of petrochemical raw materials, producing clean fuels, promoting clean and efficient utilization of coal and ensuring national energy security. In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, implement the requirements of the innovative development layout plan of modern coal chemical industry and the 13th five year plan of coal deep processing industry demonstration, summarize the experience of modern coal chemical industry demonstration project since the 13th five year plan, promote the Innovation exchange and upgrading demonstration of industry, accelerate the application of new technology and new equipment, and actively explore the high efficiency of coal Clean transformation and low-carbon utilization will guide the scientific, healthy, orderly and green development of modern coal chemical industry.
