Exhibition introduction:
Pakistan International Stone Exhibition, once a year, is held at the same time as the building materials exhibition. It is one of the highest standard exhibitions in Pakistan. In recent years, the construction of the "one belt and one road" and the "Sino Pakistani economic corridor" has brought enormous development opportunities to Pakistan. The government's investment in the reconstruction and construction of backward infrastructure is increasing rapidly, and the supply of building materials is in short supply. Therefore, as an important platform for the purchase of building materials products, the exhibition has attracted the attention of the government and the local industry.
Mr. Wasim Akhtar, mayor of Karachi, personally cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony of the last exhibition to show the government's strong support for the exhibition. The number of exhibitors in the last exhibition (total of stone and building materials exhibitions) has grown rapidly, from 238 in the previous year to 607, an increase of 2.5 times. The number of international exhibitors has also grown rapidly from 158 in the previous year to 346, which shows the global recognition of Pakistan's market potential. The exhibition has 6 pavilions, among which the stone ceramics hall is hall 3. The products include marble, granite, mining machinery, stone ceramics processing machinery and tools. The exhibitors include 12 companies from China and 52 companies from Pakistan, attracting 61022 visitors. The exhibition is very successful.
Market Overview:
Pakistan is rich in natural stone reserves. According to the information released by the Ministry of industrial development of Pakistan in 2012, the total reserves of marble and granite in Pakistan are about 297 billion tons, with up to 70 varieties. There are 1225 quarries and more than 2000 stone processing plants in China. It is the sixth largest marble and granite mining country in the world.
In order to speed up the development of the stone industry, Pakistan has set up a stone strategic working group (SWOG). With the recommendation of the working group, the government of Pakistan has cancelled tariffs on all stone mining and processing machinery and equipment.
In order to promote the stone trade, the government approved Pakistan stone giant PASDEC company to build a 600 British mother stone city in hub Balochistan near Karachi, close to the largest stone processing industrial area in Pakistan. In addition, Pakistan has accelerated the construction of 10 demonstration quarries, 4 technical training centers and 6 other marble cities. Driven by Pakistan industrial development company, Pakistan is carrying out large-scale upgrading of machinery mining and processing equipment. Therefore, Pakistan actively introduces foreign investment and advanced technology. Italy has indicated that it will conduct barter trade with Pakistan in the field of stone materials, that is, to exchange Italian equipment and technology for Pakistani marble products, the most suitable way of which is to form a joint venture.
