INTRODUCTION
Thermal power generation (including coal-fired and gas-fired power generation), as the most important form of power generation in China, has long been a key pillar in the development of the country's power industry. At present, nearly two-thirds of China's electricity sources still rely on thermal power, especially coal-fired power. Whether in terms of installed capacity or total power generation, it occupies a dominant position in China's power structure and is truly the "leading brother" in the power industry. After entering the 14th Five Year Plan period, against the backdrop of the "dual carbon" target and accelerated transformation of energy structure, although the installed capacity of new energy has a trend of catching up, it is still difficult to replace thermal power generation in terms of power generation. The energy guarantee role of thermal power and the "ballast stone" role of coal-fired power generation have become increasingly prominent. The 15th Five Year Plan is a critical period for accelerating the construction of a new energy system and a new power system, promoting high-quality development of electricity, and ensuring high-level security of energy supply. The power industry will achieve carbon peak during this period, and thermal power plays a key role in the carbon peak of the power industry. As the foundation of China's power supply, how to transform and upgrade thermal power in the future, and how to develop and transform it, is of great significance for ensuring sustainable economic and social development.
Thermal power, especially coal-fired power, gives people a stereotypical image of being "stupid, big, and crude" with high pollution, low efficiency, and poor environment. Digitization will empower thermal power to transform and upgrade, achieve intelligent monitoring and control through the use of modern information technology, optimize equipment operation parameters and enhance system collaboration capabilities through big data and Internet of Things technology, achieve timely feedback of production data through digital twin technology, carry out load forecasting, power dispatching, and participate in market transactions through artificial intelligence algorithms, and load a new engine of "smart brain" into traditional power production and operation activities, allowing "old" power plants to regain new vitality and life. With the acceleration of the construction of new power systems, creating "four intelligent power plants" with intelligent perception, intelligent diagnosis, intelligent control, and intelligent operation will be the leading direction for the development of the new generation of thermal power. Digitization, represented by "cloud, big objects, and intelligent edges", is becoming the "new engine" for high-quality development of thermal power. Using digitalization as a carrier to drive structural changes in thermal power and promote low-carbon green transformation of coal-fired power is not only the most urgent demand in the current thermal power industry, but also the biggest driving force for development and innovation, leading the thermal power industry towards a more efficient, environmentally friendly, and intelligent track. This not only greatly improves management efficiency, but also brings new possibilities for green low-carbon transformation.
With the acceleration of the construction of new power systems, the positioning of coal-fired power plants has changed, gradually shifting from energy providers to capacity providers, from electricity production entities to power supply entities, and from main power sources to supporting and regulating power sources. This change not only leads to a downward trend in the utilization hours of coal-fired power, but also promotes the transformation of coal-fired power operation and development models. More and more coal-fired power units are in a state of "backup but not use", seriously affecting the level of enterprise profits. Therefore, the "coal new joint venture" will emerge immediately after 2023, becoming a new channel for coal-fired power to overcome growth troubles and development bottlenecks. However, the "coal new joint venture" is not an easy task. Firstly, we need to continue to promote energy conservation, carbon reduction, and flexibility transformation of coal-fired power plants, balance the relationship between coal-fired power supply, heating, and peak shaving, fully tap into the deep peak shaving capacity of coal-fired power units, reasonably optimize the installed capacity and operation mode of coal-fired power plants, continuously improve the consumption space of new energy, and make every effort to create a new demonstration of "coal-fired power+new energy joint venture", comprehensively improve the dispatchability of coal-fired power plants and their synergy with new energy, in order to reduce minimum output, quickly start and adjust loads, better serve the needs of new power systems, and achieve high-quality development of the coal-fired power industry.
At present, major economies such as Europe, America, and Japan are focusing on the research and development of 700 degree Celsius ultra supercritical unit technology, but progress is limited by material costs and key equipment manufacturing processes. As a major coal-fired power country, China has steadily advanced the research and development of advanced ultra supercritical unit technology at a temperature of 700 degrees Celsius and made significant progress. It has basically established a set of independently designed key component selection schemes for ultra supercritical boilers, steam turbines, and high-temperature steam pipeline systems. Once the breakthrough is successful, it will achieve a qualitative leap from "Made in China" to "Created in China". This exhibition is an industry international brand event held in accordance with the principles of "specialization, internationalization, and branding". With both government support and the participation of industry authorities, its consistent style of "clear themes, prominent characteristics, emphasis on effectiveness, and continuous innovation" has led to an increasing popularity and influence in the industry. Industry insiders have regarded it as a platform for "understanding industry information, grasping market trends, showcasing corporate brands, expanding trade channels, and seeking cooperation opportunities". The good results of the exhibition have won praise and favor from numerous exhibitors and visitors. Effectively promote the comprehensive entry of China's thermal power industry into the global procurement system, coordinate and cooperate with the thermal power industries of countries around the world for mutual benefit and progress.
