The State Council has issued the "New Round of Action Plan for Increasing Grain Production Capacity by 100 Billion catties (2024-2030)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), proposing to achieve an additional grain production capacity of over 100 billion catties by 2030, and further enhance the comprehensive grain production capacity of the country. According to the data released by the National Grain and Oil Information Center, in 2023, the total output of China's domestic oil plants (except soybeans, peanuts, sesame, sunflower seeds and other four parts for direct consumption and other processing) for oil pressing will reach 41.9 million tons, achieving a significant growth. In terms of oil extraction results, in 2023, the total amount of edible vegetable oil extracted from domestically produced oilseeds in China reached 13.76 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%. Among them, rapeseed and peanuts are still the main edible vegetable oils in China, with oil extraction accounting for over 60% of the total.

Since this year, after experiencing a stage of rapid growth, Xinjiang has significantly improved its ability to lead high-quality development through innovation. High level innovation platforms such as the Xinjiang Base of Huairou Laboratory and Tianshan Laboratory have been put into operation. National high-tech zones such as Aksu Alar and Karamay have been successfully established. Xinjiang has become a model of innovation and transformation in the west. The "Ten Major Industrial Clusters" have achieved significant results, with grain production increasing from 15.17 million tons in 2012 to 21.19 million tons in 2023. The export of Xinjiang grain has allowed more "Xinjiang grain" to be loaded into the "Chinese bowl".

In order to position itself as an important supply base for high-quality agricultural and animal husbandry products in China, and to focus on improving production quality and increasing industrial efficiency, the overall development of the grain and oil industry cluster is stable and improving, with a solid and stable production foundation, making Xinjiang's contribution to national food security and stable supply of important agricultural products. According to the planning guidelines, key tasks such as promoting the development and upgrading of the grain industry, strengthening the technological and product support of the grain and oil industry, etc. will be coordinated. The 2026 Xinjiang Grain and Oil Food Industry Expo will be held grandly at the Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center on May 8-9, 2026.
