Brazil and Chile lead the green energy revolution in Latin America!

The World Economic Forum's 2024 report "Promoting Effective Energy Transition" shows that despite slow progress in energy transition in Latin America and the Caribbean over the past decade, Brazil and Chile have performed exceptionally well, ranking among the top 20 countries in the 2024 National Energy Transition Index. The Chilean government is accelerating the energy transition by establishing a stable regulatory framework, promoting public-private partnerships, and implementing strong climate policies. In addition to traditional renewable energy, Chile has also committed to developing non-traditional green energy. Chile plans to develop its longest transmission line project, which will deliver up to 3000 megawatts of electricity from the northern province of Antofagasta to the capital city of Santiago. Chilean Energy Minister proposes to amend bill

Ana Lia Rojas, Executive Director of the Chilean Renewable Energy and Energy Storage Association, stated at the Latin American Energy Storage Summit on October 15th that Chile has reduced nearly 3.4 TWh of renewable energy generation by September 2024. Rojas also introduced the latest situation of solar photovoltaic power in Chile, including the installed capacity and development projects of this technology. As of September 2024, Chile's cumulative installed photovoltaic capacity is close to 11 GW, accounting for 28.7% of the country's net installed capacity. In the coming months, until the first quarter of 2025, Chile is expected to add 6.4GW of renewable energy, of which 4.1GW is under construction and 2.3GW is in the testing phase.
