The 12th China Shenyang International Urban Water and Water Treatment Exhibition will grandly kick off on August 29-31, 2025 at the Shenyang International Exhibition Center. Shenyang, as an important central city in Northeast China, has a profound foundation and significant development advantages in the field of water management. Although Shenyang's per capita water resources is only about one sixth of the national per capita water resources, and it is one of the serious water shortage cities in northern China, in recent years, Shenyang Water Affairs Bureau has deeply implemented the national water-saving action and made remarkable achievements.

In terms of water-saving management, Shenyang has established a dynamic update mechanism for planned water use management. The city's self owned well water users and public pipe network water users with a daily water consumption of more than 20 cubic meters have achieved a 100% water use plan issuance rate, and non residential water users with a daily water consumption of more than 10000 cubic meters have also achieved full coverage of planned water use. Recycled water sources have also been included in the water resource allocation system, and the comprehensive utilization rate of recycled water has reached 22.5%. In terms of agricultural water conservation and efficiency improvement, all 10 large and medium-sized irrigation areas in the city have achieved metering at the beginning of the canal and the mouth of the main and branch canals. The effective utilization coefficient of irrigation water in farmland has reached 0.596, and more than 1.39 million mu of high standard farmland construction has been completed. The achievements in industrial water conservation and emission reduction are also outstanding, supporting industrial enterprises to build 543 sets of online measuring facilities through the "build first, supplement later" approach, and creating numerous national and provincial green factories and water-saving enterprises. In the process of urban water conservation and loss reduction, more than 1000 kilometers of urban water supply network have been renovated, and the designed surface water supply capacity of the city has reached 2.195 million cubic meters per month. The construction rate of a water-saving society in the county has reached 53.8%.
