The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition (ADIPEC) was first held in 1984 and has now developed into the largest and most influential professional exhibition in the Middle East, as well as the top ranked oil&gas exhibition in the Middle East, Africa, and the Asian subcontinent. It is also one of the three major global oil exhibitions, showcasing the latest products, technologies, and services in the oil and gas industry to the world. The Abu Dhabi Oil Show has been held every two years since 1984. Starting from 2013, the exhibition has been held once a year with an increasing number of participating companies and attendees. The 41st Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Expo (ADIPEC) will be open to the public from November 3-6, 2025 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center in the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the world's third largest oil resource country with oil reserves of 98 billion barrels. Oil revenue is the main source of economic development in the UAE, so the UAE government attaches great importance to the development of the oil industry. Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates, containing 94% of the country's oil reserves, with a total oil storage capacity of 92.2 billion barrels. Currently, it holds over 90% of the country's reserves and 85% of its actual exports, making it an important hub for the operation of the world's oil and gas industry. According to statistics, major oil producing countries in the Middle East, such as the United Arab Emirates, will need to invest $950 billion in the coming years to maintain and expand their oil production.

The UAE's oil production in 2023 is approximately 4 million barrels per day. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) plans to increase its oil production capacity to 5 million barrels per day by 2030. To achieve this goal, the government is making efforts to promote upstream exploration and development. In 2018 and 2019, the governments of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah held multiple rounds of exploration block permits, bidding for domestic and international oil companies for the first time. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has also increased its capital expenditure plan from 2023 to 2027 to $150 billion and announced an expansion plan to increase production. The official production capacity data released by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is 4.5 million barrels per day. The Abu Dhabi Ministry of Economic Development announced that it will provide 100 investment opportunities by 2027, with a total market size of 12.3 billion dirhams. The large investments in oil and natural gas have also raised higher requirements for related equipment and technology. The stable trade relationship between China and the United Arab Emirates, as well as China's cost-effectiveness advantage in the oil and gas industry, will give Chinese companies a broad market in Abu Dhabi.

In 2024, ADIPEC's 30 national pavilions attracted over 2200 companies, 54 national oil and energy companies, 1800 speakers, more than 60 energy ministers, and 184000 registered visitors from around the world. The China Pavilion covers an area of 5000 square meters and is attended by over 300 Chinese companies, including PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC, China National Petroleum Technology Development Co., Ltd., China Classification Society, Zhenhua Oil, Honghua, Jerry, Jiangnan Shipyard, Great Wall Drilling, and Heli Forklift. It is the national pavilion with the highest number of participating companies.
