The 15th China International Energy Storage Conference and Exhibition in 2025

This year's Two Sessions Government Work Report proposes to develop new energy storage and smart microgrids, and China has become more firm and clear in its strategic direction for the development of the new energy storage industry. As one of the representatives of new quality productivity in the energy field, China's energy storage industry will continue to lead the industry to achieve high-quality development through innovation driven approaches, supporting the construction of new power and energy systems.

In 2023, China's new energy and new energy storage industry will continue to maintain high-speed growth and become an important force in ensuring power supply. By the end of 2023, the total installed capacity of grid connected wind and solar power in China will reach 1.05 billion kilowatts, accounting for 36% of the total installed capacity. The proportion of wind and photovoltaic power generation in the total electricity consumption of the society will exceed 15%. The new energy storage will add approximately 22.6 million kilowatts/48.7 million kilowatt hours of installed capacity in 2023, an increase of over 260% compared to the end of 2022. The cumulative installed capacity of completed and operational projects by the end of 2023 will reach 31.39 million kilowatts/66.87 million kilowatt hours. New energy storage is increasingly becoming a key technology for building new energy and power systems in China, and an important lever for promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of energy production and consumption.

By the end of 2023, the total installed capacity of new energy storage in China will exceed 30GW, with an output value of over 100 billion yuan. It is expected that by 2025, the installed capacity of new energy storage will reach over 70GW, with an output value of over 300 billion yuan. By 2030, it is expected to reach over 200GW, with an output value expected to exceed one trillion yuan. The next 2-5 years will be an important opportunity period for the development of the global new energy storage industry.

The 14th China International Energy Storage Conference and Exhibition (CIES), sponsored by the China Chemical and Physical Power Industry Association and supported by over 500 institutions, was successfully held at the Hangzhou International Expo Center from March 10th to 13th, 2024.
