Exhibition Overview:

The China East China Import and Export Fair (referred to as "the Fair") is supported by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and jointly hosted by nine provinces and cities including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, Nanjing, and Ningbo. It is held in Shanghai from March 1st to 4th every year. The Fair is a regional international economic and trade event with a large scale, many customers and merchants, wide coverage, and high transaction volume in China.

Since 1991, the China Fair has successfully held 31 sessions. The 29th China International Fair was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, with an exhibition area of 115000 square meters and 5800 standard booths. There are over 3900 participating companies in clothing and apparel exhibitions, household goods exhibitions, textile fabric exhibitions, decorative gift exhibitions, modern lifestyle exhibitions, beauty and makeup exhibitions, and cross-border e-commerce exhibitions. The overseas exhibitors come from 18 countries and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Poland, Australia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, Pakistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Russia, Nepal, Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and so on.

After nearly 30 years of development, China has now become the world's largest producer and exporter of gifts. At present, there are over 10000 gift production enterprises in China, some of which have an annual output value exceeding 100 million yuan, and have formed many concentrated regional production bases. In addition, the continuous growth of consumer potential in the gift industry has given rise to professional gift distributors. Currently, there are over 100000 small and medium-sized gift companies, over 4000 large gift businesses, and no less than 200 gift businesses with annual sales exceeding 100 million yuan.

With the unstoppable trend of e-commerce, the gift industry has also begun to develop e-commerce and gain a share in the e-commerce field. According to reliable data, 70% of e-commerce users in first tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are inclined to choose and buy gifts on the Internet. The proportion of e-commerce in the gift industry is rapidly increasing, becoming one of the biggest highlights of e-commerce growth. There are currently two forms of integration between e-commerce and the gift industry: one is e-commerce platform websites such as Taobao and JD.com, and the other is vertical independent gift e-commerce websites. The former focuses on the richness of gifts, while the latter emphasizes the emotional transmission of gift giving. In the future, vertical gift e-commerce will be the growth focus of gift e-commerce. The transaction scale of gift e-commerce is constantly increasing. In 2014, the e-commerce transaction scale of China's gift industry reached 82 billion yuan. By 2018, the e-commerce transaction scale of China's gift industry reached 191.8 billion yuan, approaching 200 billion yuan. With the continuous expansion of market demand, the market size of China's gift industry will continue to grow in the future. It is predicted that by 2020, the market size of China's gift industry is expected to exceed 4500 billion yuan.
