4、 Background of the conference
With the acceleration of the global energy revolution, promoting the energy revolution and building a new type of power system has become a global consensus. New energy storage, as a core link in coordinating the interaction between sources, networks, loads, and storage, and balancing the dynamic supply and demand of electricity, has become an important support for achieving the national strategy of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality". Through the continuous nurturing of multi-dimensional national policies during the 13th Five Year Plan period, the guidance, industrial support, and demonstration application of new energy storage policies during the 14th Five Year Plan period have been continuously strengthened, promoting the new energy storage industry from the initial stage of commercialization to the stage of large-scale application and ushering in a period of high-speed development opportunities, with strong endogenous development momentum. Taking advantage of the "dual carbon" strategy, industrial regulatory departments at all levels have intensively introduced refined policies for new energy storage, clarifying guidance standard systems, production scales, operating mechanisms, etc., further promoting the flexible and efficient participation of new energy storage in the electricity market and dispatch application under diversified technological routes.
With the passage of the US IRA bill, high B2B electricity prices in Europe, and China's mandatory distribution and storage dragging to a bottom, it is expected that the proportion of global "wind+photovoltaic" power generation will exceed 20% by 2025, and China's "wind+photovoltaic" power generation will account for nearly 18%. The corresponding annual new demand for global and domestic new energy storage will exceed 90GW and 35GW respectively; By 2030, the proportion of wind and photovoltaic power generation in China will approach 30%, and the corresponding annual demand for new energy storage is expected to exceed 60GW. The new energy storage industry chain covers key links such as key materials, battery cell systems, inverter integration, temperature control and fire protection, regulatory operation and maintenance, scenario demonstration, and recycling. New technologies, products, applications, and models are iteratively upgraded, bringing innovative opportunities for the large-scale, comprehensive, and high-quality development of new energy storage.
As a national strategic emerging industry oriented towards green energy systems and new power systems, new energy storage still faces prominent problems such as incomplete industry standard systems, the need to expand demonstration application scenarios, imperfect trading models and mechanisms, and the urgent need for breakthroughs in key technologies or core processes. In order to support the rapid, high-quality, and stable development of the new energy storage industry, build a high-end exchange and sharing platform, gather industry consensus, and lead the direction of change, the second China International Energy Storage Conference and Smart Energy Storage Technology and Application Exhibition, hosted by the Jiangsu Energy Storage Industry Association, will be grandly held at the Nanjing International Expo Center from April 23 to 25, 2024. The conference will be themed "Assisting Dual Carbon?
