INTRODUCTION

In the trend of photovoltaic technology rapid update iteration and affordable access to the Internet, improving efficiency and reducing cost has become the core development goal of photovoltaic industry. Heterojunction battery has a series of advantages, such as high conversion efficiency, simple manufacturing process, thin silicon application, low temperature coefficient, no light-induced attenuation and potential attenuation, double-sided power generation and so on. It is known as the next generation of ultra-high efficiency battery technology with the most industrialization potential. At present, the highest efficiency of heterojunction battery has reached 26.63%, and the mass production efficiency has exceeded 24%.

In addition to the mass production of heterojunction batteries in Panasonic, Japan, domestic enterprises such as Jinneng, hanergy, Fujian Junshi and CIIC power also have mass production capacity, and new enterprises such as Tongwei, Aikang and Caihong have also announced investment in GW level heterojunction projects. The key to low-cost mass production of heterojunction battery lies in the localization of equipment, the improvement of yield and production capacity, and the reduction of the cost of silicon wafer, low-temperature silver paste, TCO target and cleaning down chemicals.

Similar to the heterojunction battery, the thin-film power generation technology represented by CIGS, GdTe, GaAs, perovskite, etc. is also widely concerned, with the highest efficiency exceeding 22%, which can be widely used in many fields such as photovoltaic building integration (BIPV), mobile energy products, etc. Among them, CIGS and GdTe have achieved large-scale mass production, represented by hanergy, first solar and solar frontier. In addition, national energy group, China building materials and other powerful enterprises are also vigorously adding CIGS technology.

Although the perovskite thin film battery has not been commercialized, its laboratory efficiency has reached 23.7% in recent years, with great potential. The manufacturing cost of perovskite module has the advantage of principle compared with crystalline silicon module. The main challenge in the process of commercialization is the stability and large-scale preparation. In the long run, heterojunction, perovskite and CIGS are all suitable for the future stack cell, which can make the solar cell efficiency more than 30% in the future.

The 2019 heterojunction and thin film solar cell forum will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province from May 7 to 8.
