China Art Museum is the only national plastic art museum in China. It was built in 1958. Chairman Mao Zedong wrote "China Art Museum" in 1963 and officially opened it. It is a national cultural landmark after the founding of new China. The main building is an antique loft style, with a large yellow glazed tile roof surrounded by galleries and pavilions. It has a distinctive national architectural style. The main building has a construction area of more than 18000 square meters. There are 21 exhibition halls in one to six floors, with a total exhibition area of 6660 square meters. There are 3000 square meters of exhibition and sculpture garden around the building. The collection includes the works of Su Shi, Tang Yin, Xu Wei, Ren Bonian, Wu Changshuo, Huang Binhong, Qi Baishi, Xu Beihong, Lin Fengmian, Liu Haisu, Pan Tianshou, Jiang Zhaohe, Wu Zuoren, Li Keran, Dong Xiwen, Wu Guanzhong, Zhu Dequn and other famous Chinese artists, the works of Yu Youren, Gao Ershi, Sha Menghai, qigong and other calligraphers, Liu Kaiqu, slidayou, Wang Linyi, Zeng Zhushao The works of sculptors such as Xiao Chuanjiu, Zhang Chongren, Wang Chaowen, pan he, Liu Huanzhang, Wen Lou and Zhu Ming, as well as the works of foreign artists such as Picasso, Dali, kelehuizhi and Ansel Adams.

In order to meet the requirements of national cultural construction and development, China Art Museum will build a new national art museum next to the "bird's nest" of Beijing Olympic Park, covering an area of 128600 square meters. The construction of the new library has received the attention of general secretary Xi Jinping and the state attaches great importance to it as a national key project.
