Introduction

The earthen altar, also known as the Fangze altar, is the second largest altar in the five altars of the ancient capital Beijing. Founded in the 9th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1530 AD), it was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties sacrificed "the emperor", and it is also the largest sacrifice altar in China. The total area of the altar is 37.4 hectares, which is square in shape. The whole building follows the traditions and symbolic legends of ancient China, such as "circle place", "azure earth", "sky south and north", "dragon and phoenix", "qiankun" Conceptual design. There are ancient buildings such as the Fangze altar, the royal family's room, the Zaiding Pavilion, the Zhai Palace, and the God Treasury.
