Chaoyang Park is a comprehensive and multi-functional large-scale cultural recreation and entertainment park focusing on landscaping. It is the largest city park within the Fourth Ring Road of Beijing. It was originally called Shuizizi Park. It was built in 1984 and renamed Chaoyang Park in 1992. It is about 2.8 kilometers long from north to south, and 1.5 kilometers wide from east to west. The total planned area is 288.7 hectares, of which the water surface area is 68.2 hectares, and the green space occupation rate is 87%.

        The construction of the park has been highly valued by the party's central government and municipal and district governments. The central leadership comrades came to Chaoyang Park three times in 1992, 1996, and 2004 to participate in the voluntary tree planting activities for the entire population. The park name was inscribed for the park. The construction of Chaoyang Park in 1997 was listed as a key project for the 50th anniversary of Beijing National Day. On September 15, 2004, the northern park of Chaoyang Park was completed to realize the opening of the whole park to the society. The construction of the northern park was based on the principle of "combining peace and disaster" and became the second refuge in Beijing after the Yuan Dynasty City Wall Relics Park. The beach volleyball field for the 29th Olympic Games in 2008 was settled in Chaoyang Park.
