The Forbidden City of Shenyang is one of the two ancient imperial palaces in China. It is also the only Manchu-style palace complex in the world. It was an imperial palace created and used by Qing Taizu Nurhachi and Qing Taizong Emperor Taiji. After the Qing Dynasty entered the Central Plains, it served as the palace of the capital and the Shengjing palace of the emperor touring Fuling. The Imperial Palace of Shenyang was the founding base of the Qing Dynasty. In 1625, Nurhachi moved the capital of the "post-golden" local government from Liaoyang to Shenyang, and built the palace there. In 1636, Emperor Taiji ascended the throne and became emperor, changing his country name to "Daqing". After the entry of the Qing Dynasty in 1644, the Forbidden City was still properly protected. The emperors Kangxi, Qianlong, Jiaqing, and Daoguang had visited the tombs ten times, and they all entered the palace and held a grand celebration. The Imperial Palace of Shenyang in the Qing Dynasty was a royal forbidden area. It was opened as a museum in 1926 and opened to the public. In 1961, it was listed as the first national key cultural relics protection unit. This well-preserved Forbidden City outside the customs, known for its unique palace architecture and precious historical relics of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, is well-known in China and in the world.

Pavilion size

The Forbidden City of Shenyang covers an area of more than 60,000 square meters, with more than a hundred ancient buildings. The Dazheng Hall and the Ten King Pavilion were created during the Nurhachi period. "On both sides are the palace and Taimiao, which were added during the Qianlong period, and the Wenshu Pavilion on the west road was also built during the Qianlong period.
