The Guangzhou Gymnasium is a comprehensive and multifunctional sports facility constructed by the Guangzhou Municipal Government to host the Ninth National Games. Designed by world-renowned French architect Mr. Paul Andrew, Guangzhou Zhujiang Industrial Group Co., Ltd. was contracted for construction. The foundation stone was laid in February 1999, and it was completed on June 30, 2001. In 2003, it won the "Luban Award for Chinese Construction Engineering". The 9th National Games held a gymnastics competition and a grand closing ceremony here.

The Guangzhou Gymnasium is built under the scenic Baiyun Mountain and adopts sunken buildings, so that the humanities and natural landscapes are integrated into one another, complement each other and complement each other. The leaf-like steel truss roof structure, white and transparent roofing materials, flexible and diverse seat combinations, natural and comfortable air-conditioning systems, and multi-functional site resource integration embody the ingenuity of modern architectural art. The extensive use of high-tech achievements such as electronics, intelligence, and digitization has given the venue a strong atmosphere of the times. During the day, like three white clouds floating under the Baiyun Mountain, at night, it is like three bright pearls inlaid on the Baiyun Mountain, giving people a return to nature and beauty.

        The Guangzhou Gymnasium covers an area of 240,000 square meters, with a total construction area of nearly 100,000 square meters. It has world-class cultural and sports facilities, mainly including the main stadium, training hall, public activity center, administrative office building, energy center, parking lot and "Listening Yunxuan" restaurant.

        Guangzhou Stadium is strategically located with unobstructed roads, less than 10 kilometers from the old and new central urban areas. There are more than a dozen bus lines with stations and pathways. Metro Line 2 will set up stations here.
